Dear all, your final test for Latin will take place a week from today on Wednesday June 10th, and it's going to be a big one. To begin your review, go over the eight parts of speech. Can you identify each of them and use them in a sentence? If you can, then you're already well on your way... if not, get in touch with me, I'm happy to go over things with you!

Forgetting to take Friday's 'catch-up day' into account, I did not realize that yesterday (Monday) was a 'B' day, which is when I'm supposed to see you. Not wanting to mess things up further, you may use today as a free day... new material will be posted on Wednesday. One of the things I miss most about the shutdown (beyond all of you, of course) is the absence of barber shops. My hair is currently longer than it’s ever been before - and I’m getting married in a few weeks! Dear all, Next time we meet, we will be having a (magnus) quiz on Chapter 5. Please use your break to study the vocab., myth, and what we learned about the druids (What was a druid? What were some of the things the druids did?). I've attached the Quizlet of all the vocab. we've learned thus far (or you may use your own flashcards if you prefer). On p. 30 of 'Minimus' we read that the Romans didn't think much of the Ancient inhabitants of the island of Britan. This video helps explain why that way, by showing some of the technological advancements and customs the Romans brought with them (some of which we've already looked at -- like the food!)

Today, make sure you learn and review the new vocabulary found on pp. 31 and 32. I have included a Quizlet set of all the terms we've seen including the new ones, but you may also create your own flashcards or simply write them out again and again on a separate sheet of paper - whatever works for you! First, read the story Candidus tells the children in Chapter 5 (on p. 32 of 'Minimus' or attached here).

Then, to find out more about more about the Druids, watch the following video about a day in the life of a druid (Please note; even though we don't like it nowadays, animal sacrifice was practiced throughout the ancient world. The Romans practiced it, and so did the Jews - including Mary and Joseph!)

Finally, in a GoogleDoc, answer the following questions:

1) Why did the traveler in Candidus' story get so frightened?
2) What was a druid?
3) Why didn't druids write down the knowledge they possessed?
4) What are at least 3 things druids did in their culture?
