Position Overview
St. Gregory the Great School is seeking a mission-driven and visionary Assistant Principal to join our dedicated leadership team. The Assistant Principal will work closely with the Principal to help administer the school’s religious and academic programs, providing essential leadership in faith formation, academic excellence, staff development, and student discipline.

This role supports the school’s Catholic identity while fostering a safe, productive, and spiritually enriching environment for all students and staff. The Assistant Principal will be a dynamic leader who demonstrates effective communication, organizational skills, and instructional leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration:
- Assist with implementing school programs that align with the Parish and Diocese of Buffalo mission.
- Share in the daily administration and leadership of the school.
- Serve as acting Principal in the absence of the Principal.
- Support the implementation of all fire, safety, and emergency response procedures.
- Oversee arrival and dismissal supervision, school testing programs, substitute coordination, and facilities management.
-Manage building operations, software purchasing, and textbook funding.

Staff Development & Instructional Support:
- Supervise, evaluate, and support teachers, aides, and support staff.
- Lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and staff development initiatives.
- Support curriculum development and implementation aligned with NYS Next Generation Learning Standards.
- Serve as Staff Development Coordinator and STREAM Program leader.

Faith Leadership:
- Strengthen Catholic Identity in coordination with the Pastoral Team.
- Organize school Masses, sacramental preparation, and faith-based student programming.
-Support character education, retreats, and spiritual formation.

Student Life & Discipline:
- Enforce school policies including dress code, attendance, and behavior.
- Administer the student code of conduct, including restorative justice practices.
- Supervise student events, field trips, and co-curricular activities.

Curriculum & Assessment:
- Coordinate NYS assessments, STAR Testing, and Early Childhood screenings.
- Work with faculty to select and evaluate curriculum resources.
- Collaborate with counselors and specialists to ensure integrated instruction.

Technology & Data Management:
- Oversee implementation of the school technology plan.
- Manage the eSchool student information system and technology distribution.
- Ensure compliance with technology and internet safety policies.

Parent & Community Engagement:
- Maintain effective communication with parents and the Parish community.
- Serve on school and Parish committees as needed.
- Facilitate the placement and transition of new students.
