Dear St. Gregory Families and Staff,
The Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) has notified the school on December 1, 2020, of a positive case of COVID-19. This individual was last on St. Greg’s campus on November 20, 2020.
This serves as an informational notice to our school community and does NOT mean that you or your child have been exposed to or have come in close or proximate contact with the COVID-19 positive individual.
While we cannot release information regarding this individual due to Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA), it is important to note that this person is in isolation, and the ECDOH is conducting contact tracing to identify all individuals who may have been in close or proximate contact with the COVID-19 positive individual. The ECDOH is directly communicating with any individual who is identified as a close or proximate contact to the positive COVID-19 individual so that further health and safety measures can be taken. If you are not directly contacted by the ECDOH, the Department has indicated no subsequent action is required by you or your child(ren) at this time as it pertains to this positive case.
The school will continue to work with the ECDOH to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and school community. For signs and symptoms of COVID-19, along with health and safety preventative measures to help slow the spread of the disease, please refer to the Erie County Department of Health webpage, Frequently Asked Questions and Answers about COVID-19 Coronavirus.
As a reminder, please also be sure to complete the daily COVID-19 Health Screening Questionnaire that is available on Pick Up Patrol to help keep our school community as healthy and safe as possible. We ask that you continue to complete the screening questions while on remote learning in preparation to return to school. Thank you for assisting us with this very important health and safety measure.
Lastly, we are finalizing our COVID-19 testing plan. More information and out anticipated return date will be coming tomorrow evening, December 2nd, via email. Please continue to provide consent to test here. Our tests will be conducted as a drive-up lab and you will therefore be in the presence of your child(ren).
