Principal's Message
We are thrilled to announce that Ted Luckett has formally been named the Principal of St. Gregory the Great School. As you know, Mr. Luckett has been fulfilling the role of Interim Principal since Summer 2022 as we transitioned a shift in leadership. In January, Fr. Leon recommended that the school board move forward with hiring a permanent principal for our school.
With that, the Executive Committee of the school board conducted a formal interview and recommended Mr. Luckett for this position based on the monthly and quarterly goals he has met or exceeded since he took on the interim role. This recommendation was then presented to the entire school board who voted unanimously to approve this change in position.
As you know Mr. Luckett started at St. Greg’s two and half years as the Assistant Principal over Safety and Discipline working closely with Faculty, Staff, Students, Parents and Parish Staff. As our leadership team developed he took on more responsibilities such as scheduling, technology, class placements, NYS testing and overseeing substitute teachers.
Prior to his Assistant Principal role here, Mr. Luckett served as the Assistant Principal of Residential Education at the Gateway-Longview Lynde School, in Williamsville, NY, with 150 students, in need of a highly structured, and individualized education. He provided instructional leadership, restorative approaches to discipline, and a safe, culturally responsive environment. Ted has completed his Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education and Master of Science in Special Education and is currently working towards the completion of his New York State Provisional Certificate School Administration and Supervision.
Please join us in congratulating Mr. Luckett as he steps into the permanent role of Principal. We have been blessed by his leadership, dedication, support and guidance for the past seven months and we look forward to the continued work he will do here creating disciples of Christ.
